The 2010 PJW East Qualifier is coming up! There is no better way to end a great season than with the annual
PJW championship series. Just like when they get to high school, their training all season should be focused on how
far they can go post season. Unlike MAWA's, PJW's occur when wrestlers are still fresh, raring to go and practicing
with their team. The individual league schedules will have ended; and then its time for the various leagues to come
together to see who best represents Southeastern PA in a hunt for a state title. PJW's are not only for the super studs
who think they'll be standing at the top of the podium at Wilkes-Barre - it's for everyone. All your kids should go
for the experience, each with their own goal. Some may go trying to just win a match, others with sites on a state medal,
but all can measure their progress year to year with this end of season series. So that your whole team can enter, we
have added a six and under division.
Ages seven to 14 who place in the top three advance to LaSalle College
High School on March 20th and 21st for the regional tournament for no additional fee. Lastly, the top two at the regional
have the honor of representing Area XI at the state tournament. Of all the national events I have been a part of (MAWA
Eastern Nationals, NHSCA National Duals, Ohio TOC, USA Wrestling Schoolboy National Duals, the Virginia Challenge National
Duals, the South Jersey National Duals, and the War at the Shore) none match the pomp and pageantry of the Pennsylvania Junior
Wrestling State Championship. For a youth wrestler, it is the show of shows and the most exciting tournament they can
enter.
